Project: Spectre (2015)
Role: Compositor
Company: Industrial Light and Magic
Time on Project: 8 months

Spectre was an exciting and challenging project to be a part of. We worked on the film's opening sequence, which takes place in Mexico during the day of the dead festival, and a sequence near the end of the film in Blofeld's lair.

The work involved a combination of environment extensions, blue screen replacements and fully cg shots. The opening shot is an extended tracking shot over several thousand frames, which was a real team effort to get finished.

Personally, I was heavily involved in look-dev for the 'audio-recieving laser' Bond has on his gun at the start of the film. Also, this was the first time that I got to work with CG crowds, which was an interesting challenge.

Composite - environment extension replacing under construction buildings with fully finished ones.

Composite - fully CG shot, environment, helicopter and crowd.

Composite - newpaper photo replacement. This was particularly tricky because matching the subtle movement of the pages as they settled, and the very shallow defocus, proved to be suprisingly complicated.

Composite - bluescreen replacement with cg environment  outside of helicopter.
